Q: Does my pet really need a head cone?

A: An e-collar (head cone) or alternative (onesie) will help to prevent your pet from licking its incision after surgery and avoid possible complications such as infection. It is recommended that your pet wear an e-collar (cone) or alternative for 14 days post surgery.

Q: What is a microchip?

A: Microchips are a one-time, permanent form of identification. We recommend microchipping your pet as an important aid in getting your lost pet back home to you. Collars can break, tags can be lost and tattoos can become hard to read. This is not a tracking device but a form of identification. For more information, go to: https://www.24petwatch.com/lost-pet-services/why-microchip

Q: Does my pet need to be up to date on vaccinations to come in for surgery?

A: Although not mandatory for surgery, we recommend that all pets be up to date with vaccinations. Immunizing your pet is an important procedure that, in most cases, will provide protection against an illness that may be life threatening. Failure to vaccinate could result in your pet contracting a serious preventable disease.

Q: What is the flea treatment you offer?

A: We offer a one time dose of Advantage II : Flea Treatment. This application will help eliminate current flea infestation and prevent fleas for up to 30 days for the treated pet. A prevention program should be established with your regular veterinarian for continued treatment and for any other pets in your home.

A: No, we only offer these as an add-on with surgery.
